Filming in North Northamptonshire: permits and fees
North Northamptonshire Council manages filming permits for public highways and council land across Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, and East Northamptonshire.
Who issues permits
North Northamptonshire Council was established in April 2021, taking over from the former Northamptonshire County Council and four district councils. It covers the northern half of the historic county — Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, and East Northamptonshire — and issues permits for filming on public highways and council-managed land.
Process
Contact the council’s licensing team with full production details: dates, locations, crew and vehicle numbers, and a risk assessment. Standard applications take around three weeks. Road closure applications require a formal highways order and more lead time. Corby town centre and Wellingborough town centre may involve additional coordination with town councils.
Fees
Fees are set on application. Highway filming involves permit processing and, where applicable, traffic management charges. Council location hire is priced individually.
What’s covered
Council-maintained roads across Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Rushden, and rural market towns. Council parks and recreation grounds. Council civic buildings and offices.
