About this location
The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is Wales’ national conservatoire, located in Cathays Park — the civic park that also contains the National Museum Wales, City Hall, the Welsh Assembly buildings, and Cardiff University. The College’s hire spaces at 300-person capacity are the largest in the Cardiff filming-space market accessible through Tagvenue. At £264/hr this is a premium rate that reflects the institution’s national status and the quality of its performance and function spaces. Cathays Park’s grand Edwardian civic architecture provides an exterior environment unlike any other in Cardiff — wide tree-lined avenues, Portland stone civic buildings, formal parkland — which productions can use alongside the College’s interior spaces. For drama requiring a conservatoire, arts school, or civic institution setting, this is the specific reference in Wales.
